The ring lands on the original Mazda style cover are made of aluminum, therefore, the Mazda Cover has a high failure rate because the ring lands wear out prematurely. On the Ford Cover the ring lands are made from a steel sleeve. Our 4F27E End Cover is a Ford Cover modified to fit both Mazda’s and Ford’s. Because the ring lands on our covers are made from a steel sleeve our End Cover has a considerably longer life than original Mazda End Covers.
